چکیده

A chromium (Cr) coating was fabricated on 45 steel by electrodeposition with a trivalent–chromium (Cr3+) electrolyte. The morphologies and element distributions of the obtained were analyzed using scanning electronic microscope, energy dispersive spectrometer, atomic force x-ray diffraction, photoelectron spectroscopy. effects normal load sliding speed tribological performance Cr friction tester. results show that roughness 85.5 nm is composed phase. average coefficients (COFs) under loads 1 N, 3 5 N are decreased from 1.08 to 0.69, exhibiting excellent reduction; while its wear rates increase load, resistance becomes poor. Moreover, COFs at speeds 600 times/min, 700 800 times/min in range 0.71–0.76, rate lowest showing reduction best.

Investigation of Tribological Behavior of Electrodeposited Cr, Co-Cr and Co-Cr/TiO2 Nano-Composite Coatings

Electrodeposition is a simple and economic technique for precision coating of different shaped substrates with pure metal, alloy or composite films. Dc electrodeposition was used to produce Cr, Co-Cr and Co-Cr/TiO2 nano-composite coatings from Cr(III) based electrolytes onto 316L SS substrates. The effects of TiO2 nanoparticles concentration on co-deposition of these particles along with Cr con...

Microstructure and Tribological Performance of TiB2-NiCr Composite Coating Deposited by APS

Nickel chromium (NiCr) powders with different titanium diboride (TiB2) additions (20, 40 and 60 wt %) were prepared with a mechanical alloying method and then sprayed using an air plasma spraying technology. The microstructure and phase composite of the powders and the cross-sections of deposited coatings were analyzed with a scanning electronic microscope and X-ray diffraction. The tribologica...

Additive Manufacturing of Co-Cr-Mo Alloy: Influence of Heat Treatment on Microstructure, Tribological, and Electrochemical Properties

Co-Cr-Mo alloy samples, fabricated using Laser Engineered Net Shaping – a laser-based additive manufacturing technology, have been subjected to heat treatment to study its influence on microstructure, wear, and corrosion properties. Following L9 Orthogonal array of Taguchi method, the samples were solutionized at 1200°C for 30, 45, and 60min followed by water quenching. Aging treatment was done...

Hydrogen Dissolution and Structural Changes in Electrodeposited Cr Films*

Effects of hydrogen on the structure of electrodeposited Cr films have been investigated by combining X-ray diffraction and thermal desorption spectroscopy, systematically varying the plating conditions. A large amount of hydrogen was dissolved at high current densities in a Cr-rich bath at low temperatures, and caused structural changes from bcc to hcp and fcc hydrides with increasing hydrogen...

Improved Tribological Performance of Amorphous Carbon (a-C) Coating by ZrO2 Nanoparticles

Nanomaterials, such as Graphene, h-BN nanoparticles and MoS₂ nanotubes, have shown their ability in improving the tribological performance of amorphous carbon (a-C) coatings. In the current study, the effectiveness of ZrO₂ nanoparticles (ZrO₂-NPs) in lubricating the self-mated nonhydrogenated a-C contacts was investigated in boundary lubrication regime. The results showed that 13% less friction...
